The Big Picture
GATE exam is worth 100 marks, divided into 3 sections:

- General Aptitude: 15% (10 questions, 15 marks)

- Engineering Mathematics: 13% (variable questions, 13 marks)

- Subject Paper: 72% (variable questions, 72 marks)
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- 1 mark: +1 for correct, -⅓ for wrong

- 2 marks: +2 for correct, -⅔ for wrong
Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions
No negative marking
Multiple Select Questions (MSQs)
No negative marking
